Whiplash is crazy film which is dominated by Crazy J.K. Simmons in the role of extreme music professor who driven his students beyond their expectations as he expressed himself. Crazy! You sit without breathing and horrified stare at the screen because J.K.Simmons tortures you to extremes. He defines the concept of mobbing and moral justify it. Spits on praise for solid work and words ” good job ” attaches blame for mediocrity. With his offensive words, rough actions and provocations, defiance, stubbornness and persistence, drives the selected object to the explosion. Wants, craves, burned in desire to achieve that extra something. And the viewer with him. In doing so, forgets the real world, doesn´t sense the physical pain, the need for security. All three, challenged student, Mad Professor and tortured viewer with the same fervent goal: to achieve extraordinary, beautiful, best, heavenly, supernatural, extraordinary. And crazy J.K. Simmons certainly made it. And deserved an Oscar.
